James joins Bayern Munich on loan

James Rodriguez has joined Bayern Munich on loan from Real Madrid with an option to buy. All parties involved are beneficial from this agreement. James was going no where sitting on the bench at the Santiago Bernebeau and by joining the German Champions, he is guaranteed more minutes with a top club at the highest level.

James won the Golden Ball at the 2014 World Cup and was touted as the next big thing in world football. But his career never took off at club level and a move away from Spain had been on the cards for a long time now. James now will be playing in front of some of the best fans in a football crazy country, under one of the best coaches at this time. With Champions League football and competition with other great clubs domestically, James will be sure of some high octane action.

With the move, bonds between Bayern and Real have also strengthened, as many clubs were after the Colombian but Munich was the landing spot chosen by Los Blancos. After the Toni Kroos and Xabi Alonso deal and the loan move for Lucas a couple of years back, the two European powerhouses are clearly on good terms. But it is also concerning for Bayern and other clubs across Europe. James was no more than a bench/rotation player for Les Merengues while at Bayern, he easily classifies as one of their better players. Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and Atletico Madrid have pulled so far in front of all other clubs, that other teams are having to break the bank and work overtime to catch up with the Liga teams. Barring Juventus FC, no other club has been as consistent as the Spanish clubs, with England and Germany failing to have a single representative in the Final in any of the last 4 UEFA Champions Leagues. It must come as a serious wake up call for all teams hoping to climb back up. Madrid have already let go off two top stars this off season and are still head and shoulders above everyone else.
